A proposed Milwaukee County advisory referendum on whether to spend tax money on a new arena is likely dead, even though the majority of board members opposed Thursday’s vote to sideline it. Supervisor John Weishan called for the nonbinding referendum to be put on the November ballot. After being stalled in committee in June, the item made it to the full County Board for a decision on Thursday. The board voted 8-9 on a motion to send the proposal to county attorneys for a review.
