Asian Markets Mixed After U.s. Stocks Take Dip

And now, the rom-com sits atop Netflixs top movies after dropping on the streaming service on Wednesday.

Matthew Vaughn's spy action comedy film Argylle has found success in the streaming arena, despite an initial stumble at the box office. Released on Apple TV+ on April 12, the film rapidly ascended to become the second-most streamed title in its first week according to Reelgood.

Anyone But You, starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, only dropped on Netflix (US) on April 24, and it has already dethroned the streamer's newest original sci-fi blockbuster as the most popular film this week. Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver was released on April 19 and, just like its predecessor, Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire, it couldn't maintain its dominance on the top spot for long.

Though its theatrical run was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, The Invisible Man still managed to take in an impressive $144.5 million dollars at the box office against a budget of just $7 million, and while it's been four years since its release, star Elisabeth Moss says that a sequel is closer than ever.

The second chapter in Zack Snyder's dark and slow-motion heavy intergalactic saga, Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver, has debuted on Netflix to significantly lower viewing figures than its predecessor. The sequel to Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire, the film claimed the top spot on Netflix's weekly streaming chart upon its release.

Deadpool & Wolverine director, Shawn Levy, has found a silver-lining in the film's production shutdown, caused by the joint SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. Unlike every other upcoming MCU project, which had their release dates pushed back to 2025 and beyond, Deadpool & Wolverine has held its ground, and its release is only months away.
