Authorities Begin Securing Marshall Square Fire Site

Crews began boarding up a fire-ravaged wing of Marshall Square Retirement Resort and securing the perimeter of the complex with a chain-link fence Friday to “maintain the integrity of the scene” as an investigation into the deadly fire continues. Columbia County sheriff’s deputies have been guarding the 180,000-square-foot facility on Ronald Reagan Drive 24 hours a day since the fire Tuesday that killed one elderly resident and displaced dozens of others. read more
