A Beaumont man has been charged with intoxication manslaughter stemming from a fatal car accident in Lumberton last week. Elmer Ray Rivers, 58, was charged with the second-degree felony upon his release from Christus St. Elizabeth, where he was treated for injuries he sustained from the Oct. 16 crash that killed a Lumberton man, Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins said. Hardin County Justice of the Peace Butch Cummings set Rivers' bond at $500,000, and Rivers was then booked at the Hardin County jail.
