A Beaumont man already in state prison for a shooting at a self-service laundry business was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years of additional federal time for a fatal carjacking in 2013. Prosecutors said Gobert and Jonathan Demond Patton, who is serving a 40-year federal sentence for his role in the crime, entered a self-service laundry business on Florida Avenue to rob the only person there. A short time later, police stopped Patton and Gobert because their vehicle matched the one reported in the laundry shooting.
