Women and children across the country, including those in the Wyoming Valley, need a voice. Women are grossly underrepresented in all levels of government. I sit on a five-member city council as the only woman, in a city whose population is 51.1 percent female. As women, we need people elected across all levels of government that represent our best interests and identify with both our successes and our struggles. Women still have a long way to go in the United States.
