BIG STONE GAP, VA - Betty Sue Lovell, 84, devoted wife, mother and nan, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Norton, Virginia. She was a member of the New Hope Assembly of God Church in Big Stone Gap and was co-owner and operator of Glenn’s Friendly Market in Norton. She was preceded in death by a son, Steven Lynn Lovell; her parents, Henry Lawrence and Laura Emma Stanley Daugherty; three brothers, Jim Daugherty, Ed Daugherty and Cary Daugherty; and four sisters, Faye Williams, Evelyn Roberts, Barbara Carter and Eva Kilgore. Surviving are her loving husband of 62 years, Glenn Lovell; two sons, Eddie Lovell and wife Ruth of Norton and David Lovell and wife Olga of Myrtle Beach, SC; five grandchildren, Brian Lovell and wife Karla, Brad Lovell, Sarah Beth Lovell, Logan Lovell and Larissa Lovell; six great-grandchildren, Macayla, Jake, Elijah, Kaylee, Audrey and Carter; four sisters, Peggy Cain of Baltimore, MD, Margaret Ashley of Collinsville, VA, Jean Stanley and husband Robert of Wise and Joan Isom of Wise; two special family members, Melody Lovell and Paige Lovell; special caregiver, Jessica Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Betty Sue Lovell will be conducted at 7:00 P.M.
