Shutterstock Dozens of consumers who bought drugs online or over the phone received fake warning letters from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The FDA issued an official press release about the fake letters and believes they may be part of an international extortion scam. The FDA wants consumers who get these fake letters to email FDAInternetPharmacyTaskForce-CDER@fda.hhs.gov. Consumers who tried to purchase drugs online or over the phone have received fake FDA warning letters in the mail instead of the medicines they wanted.
