Bill: Excess Power Program Earnings Would Aid Communities

JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — Excess funds from a program that provides assistance for rural areas faced with high electricity costs would help fund a community assistance program under legislation being considered in the Alaska Senate. Under the bill, half of any excess earnings from the Power Cost Equalization endowment fund, or $30 million, whichever is less, would go toward a community revenue sharing or assistance program.Read more on NewsOK.com
