Binghamton Shuts Out Sea Dogs, 2-0

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — Luis Cessa, Chase Hutchingson and Paul Sewald combined on a five-hit shutout Thursday to lead the Binghamton Mets to a 2-0 Eastern League victory over the Portland Sea Dogs. Playing before a sellout crowd of 6,216, mostly from nearby schools for the 10:35 a.m. start, Cessa (4-3) allowed just three hits and did not walk a batter in six scoreless innings. The only innings in which the Sea Dogs produced more than one base runner were the eighth and ninth. Jantzen Witte had two hits for the Sea Dogs.
