Catholic Bishop Gregory J. Hartmayer today blessed the new home of the Diocese of Savannah during ceremonies at the former St. Mary’s Home. “This continues to be Holy ground,” Hartmayer told a gathering of religious leaders, Catholics and former residents of the home for orphans and troubled youth. “Today we ask Mary, the mother of God, to bless all of our efforts,” Hartmayer said in blessing The Catholc Pastoral Center on East Victory Drive. The official grand opening of the structure as the headquarters for the 90-county diocese marked completion of efforts that began with the closing of St.
