Blowing Dirt Blamed In Fatal 6-vehicle Wreck

Blowing dirt caused a fatal wreck involving five tractor-trailers and an SUV Wednesday afternoon on Interstate 40 near Groom, Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Christopher Ray said. About 2:45 p.m., the driver of an eastbound tractor-trailer slowed down on the interstate as dirt blowing north impeded visibility. This caused a chain reaction of vehicles rear-ending vehicles, and one person was killed. No hazardous material was spilt in the wreck.
