The body of a man was discovered in a shed that burned in Bay Point Wednesday afternoon, officials said, and investigators were working to determine how the fire started and the man’s cause of death. The first firefighters on the scene came upon a shed behind a residence fully engulfed in flames, Marshall said, with the fire spreading to an adjacent fence and some nearby vegetation. Propane tanks and other welding gases near the shed were venting and exploding, so crews focused their attention first on putting out the fence and brush that had caught fire as well as protecting the home. Once the danger posed by the propane tanks had passed, firefighters put out the shed fire and discovered the body of a man inside, Marshall said.
