LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Federal authorities say a shipment of baby clothes will be destroyed after testing positive for lead. Customs and Border Protection said Friday that the shipment was stopped at the U.S.-Canadian border in Lewiston, north of Buffalo, in March. The clothing, made in China, was seized April 23 after testing confirmed that parts of the button-down pink outfits contained excessive levels of lead. Authorities say the U.S.-bound shipment was seized under the federal Hazardous Substance Act.
