British Columbia Wildfires Send Smoke Over Vancouver, Northwest Washington

Winds out of the north, particularly from British Columbia’s Fraser Valley, give the Pacific Northwest its occasional spells of cold, windy winter, and display wind-blown Seattle TV news personalities at the Peace Arch. The winds are blowing this week, but with far different consequences. A northerly air flow has carried smoke from British Columbia forest fires, first over the Olympic Peninsula on Sunday, and now into Whatcom County.
