JOHNSON CITY — With their destiny at their own fingertips, the East Tennessee State Bucs let it slip away. How far it slipped is yet to be determined. Samford quarterback Devlin Hodges burned ETSU with his feet on the same day he became the Football Championship Subdivision’s all-time leading passer, and the Bulldogs ruined the Bucs’ Southern Conference championship party with a 38-27 victory Saturday at Greene Stadium. The 17th-ranked Bucs (8-3, 6-2) wound up sharing the league title with Wofford and Furman.
