After playing 14 innings and nearly six hours Tuesday night, the Giants and Phillies endured a 59-minute rain delay in the fourth inning of a 0-0 game - not a big deal for the Giants' biggest, strongest pitcher. Bumgarner rewarded his team with eight shutout innings, and Hunter Pence in turn rewarded his pitcher with a two-out, three-run double in the ninth that broke a scoreless tie and sent the Giants to a 3-1 victory, their third in three games in the series. The Giants grabbed a two-game lead in the National League West, their largest since June 27, assuring they will lead by at least 1 1/2 games when they open a three-game series against the Dodgers at AT&T Park on Friday. After the first two Phillies reached, Bumgarner pitched out of it, striking out Andres Blanco and retiring pinch-hitter Grady Sizemore on a flyout with both runners in scoring position after a sacrifice.
