(Scroll down for a video and photo gallery.)CHURCH HILL — Experience is the best teacher, and after a year of hands-on construction, several Volunteer High School students have already experienced everything that building a house from the ground up entails.Last year, VHS building trades instructor Jason Hendrickson visited Sullivan Central's cabin building program.Hendrickson was so impressed he asked administrators if he could start a similar program at Volunteer.The program was subsequently approved by the Hawkins County Board of Education, and in March of last year Hendrickson's students began construction on a new cabin ordered by a customer from Grainger County."This is basically teaching students every skill they would need to know to build a house," Hendrickson told the Times-News Wednesday.
