Cal announced Friday it will not renew the contract of assistant football coach Pierre Ingram, who was arrested earlier this month for solicitation. The April 16 arrest was part of a prostitution sting, leaving a black eye on a program that has worked hard to clean up its image since head coach Sonny Dykes’ arrival in 2013. “As you are aware, Assistant Football Coach Ingram was placed on paid administrative leave following his recent arrest for solicitation,” Cal said in a statement. The Bears are planning on having quality control and special teams assistant Burl Toler III join its other coaches on the road to recruit in lieu of Ingram. Toler III played at Cal and is the son of Burl Tolder Sr., who is in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame for being the first African-American on-field official in the NFL.
