The California Public Employees’ Retirement System has hired its first chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer to work with the pension fund’s investment and health programs. Marlene Timberlake D'Adamo was named Monday to the new position, effective immediately, CalPERS said in a news release. “CalPERS has a longstanding commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and this new position will help us implement a systemwide approach to DEI efforts.
