Camas Softball Stays Alive For 4a Trophy

SPOKANE — Camas coach Dale Lunde took his star pitcher, Kennedy Ferguson, aside and gave her some sage advice. “You don’t have to do this alone,” he told the junior. “You’ve done that enough. It’s time for someone else to step up and carry some of the load.” The Papermakers stepped up late to put themselves within sight of a trophy at the state Class 4A softball championships. Camas knocked off Richland in the morning opener, 9-7. But in the quarterfinal round, the Papermakers ran into top-ranked Woodinville and pitcher Taylor Rhinehart.
