Darin LaHood, a 46-year-old Illinois state legislator and a son of former seven-term House member Ray LaHood, who went on to serve in the Obama cabinet as transportation secretary, has won the Republican primary for the congressional seat of Aaron Schock, a fellow Republican who resigned his seat, and peculiarly appointed office, in the midst of an ethics probe.
