On Sunday morning, bulldozer operator Terry Moffitt was about to head out to cut fire breaks and haul forest fuel away from the advancing flames of the Canyon Creek complex fire south of John Day when he spotted the small, gray female tabby lying up inside the massive tracked machine's engine bay.
