Charges against a Dickinson man accused of shooting a Staffordshire bull terrier at a southeast Houston dog park were dismissed Monday after a Harris County grand jury declined to indict him with cruelty to animals. Potts told police the 2-year-old dog, named Diesel, threatened him, his wife and their dog, forcing him to shoot the bull terrier in the leg, then firing twice more to kill it.
