Communities and hamlets in unincorporated Chatham County that want to allow residents to use golf carts on public streets now have an opportunity to do so. The Chatham County Commission on Friday unanimously approved an ordinance that allows for communities in the unincorporated area to petition to become a “motorized cart district.” “This is something that’s been bandied about now for over a year,” said Commission Chairman Al Scott.
