The Monday announcement from the House Minority Floor Leader that he will not seek re-election in House District 56 could set the stage for a hotly contested 2020 election in the district that includes parts of Caddo, Grady and Kiowa counties. Registered Republicans and Democrats are nearly evenly split in the district and Perryman, D-Chickasha, won his first election by a mere 132 votes in 2012. In a news release Monday, Perryman said the time is right for him to step back from the Legislature. “After much consideration, I have decided not to seek reelection in 2020,” he said in a statement.Read more on NewsOK.com
