China Factories Chug Along But Employment Still Sluggish

Fresh data showing China's economy on a slightly better footing this month with Beijing's targeted stimulus programs keeping the factory engines running. The HSBC/Markit manufacturing flash PMI for September came in at 50.5, slightly faster than August levels with stronger export orders. But the employment sub-index dropped to 46.9, its lowest level since early 2009 at the height of the last economic crisis.
