When executives from Chipotle Mexican Grill delivered a bleak outlook for the chain during an investment conference Tuesday, attendees steered the discussion toward a would-be savior: Bill Ackman. The activist investor, who runs hedge fund Pershing Square Capital Management, became Chipotle’s largest shareholder in September with an almost 10 percent stake.
