MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — After watching Chris Young strike out the side in the sixth inning, Kansas City Royals manager Ned Yost approached his starter in the dugout to tell him he was nearing his pitch limit. "I just told him I'd give him what I had," the 36-year-old right-hander said. After an emotional rollercoaster of a week in which his team clinched the AL Central and his father died, Young has certainly given the Royals a lot while making a bid to be part of their postseason rotation. Young pitched into the seventh Friday night for his second outstanding start since returning from the bullpen, allowing one run for the Royals in their 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Twins. He yielded four hits in 6 1-3 innings, retiring 15 of 16 batters during one stretch. Ben Zobrist put a major dent in Minnesota's postseason plans with an RBI double in the eighth inning against struggling All-Star Glen Perkins. "Great team win, great environment," Young said.Read more on NewsOK.com
