City and state officials will make an “important announcement” Friday morning at JAX Chamber’s office, according to Mayor Alvin Brown’s office. The new release did not specify what the announcement will be. The mayor’s office would not say whether it will involve the identity of Project Speed, the code-name for the Fortune 500 manufacturing company that would get $10 million in financial incentives from the city to build a plant in Jacksonville.
