By STEPHEN HOBBS stephen.hobbs@gazette.com -The second phase of construction on a major east-west Colorado Springs road is expected to get one step closer to starting after a City Council vote this week.Officials are acquiring about 160 pieces of land, including full parcels and temporary easements, a necessary step before the latest work on the Woodmen Road corridor expansion can begin, said project manager Mike Chaves.
