Farmers' Almanac predicts a 'Polar Coaster' winter

LEWISTON, Maine — If you didn’t like last winter, you may want to stop reading right now. The 2020 Farmers’ Almanac’s extended weather forecast is calling for a “Polar Coaster Winter” — with plenty of frigid temperatures and snow for a majority of the country.
According to a press release issued on Monday by the Farmers’ Almanac:
• “Freezing, frigid, and frosty” are the exact terms used to describe the upcoming season, especially for areas east of the Rockies all the way to the Appalachians.

Can Cyclones dream big after beating 'Toppers?

Elizabethton has a week off to savor its second straight win over Science Hill, and the Cyclones couldn’t be faulted if they were dreaming big after the impressive 28-20 season-opening win Friday night.
With two-time defending state champion Greeneville in the same league, any team can view a Region 1-4A championship as a potential step toward significant postseason success. Of course, the kicker is Greeneville. The Greene Devils have a new coach and lost their first game, but they haven’t surrendered anything — with the exception of the 30-game winning streak.
