Thousands lose power after storms move through

The northern region of Metro Detroit saw several power outages this morning after storms moved through the region. Northern Oakland County residents were dealing with massive power outages on Wednesday morning after early storms, and then northern Macomb County residents saw outages in the late morning.

 

No plea deal in Macomb Township murder case

It appears a 39-year-old man accused of fatally beating a Macomb Township man will not be receiving a plea deal.Nicholas Riddle appeared in front of Judge Carl Marlinga for a pretrial Wednesday in Macomb County Circuit Court for the death of Jack Kitchen, 55, who was found dead in a field last October.

The Motor City Brass Band is relying on plenty of borrowed equipment to keep the music flowing and their concert schedule on track after someone stole their trailer packed with percussion instruments.The theft happened sometime between June 11 and 16 at the Salvation Army facility at 16130 Northland Drive in Southfield, where the band rehearses.

Her name is Emily Wines and - no joke - she's in charge of wine for Cooper's Hawk Winery, which this week opened its first Michigan location at Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township As one of 250 master sommeliers in the world, she is one of the 25 women who have earned that title.
