Colorado fishing licenses for 2020 will go on sale March 1, but in the meantime, Colorado Parks and Wildlife has issued an advisory telling people to be cautious about where they purchase their licenses. The agency was alerted about a fraudulent website claiming to sell Colorado fishing licenses, according to a news release. CPW says its own online shop and hundreds of license sales agents across the state offer the easiest, most secure and best-priced methods of purchasing fishing licenses. The agency added that fraudulent sites sometimes sell licenses at a significantly marked up price, citing a resident Colorado fishing license sold for $134, nearly $100 more than a valid resident license actually costs. The agency also cautioned that fraudulent third party sites might use or sell personal information from the purchaser, including Social Security or credit card information.
