The city of Colorado Springs along with the rest of El Paso and Teller counties are on accident alert status Monday morning because of wintry driving conditions. Colorado State Patrol announced the status for the counties, and Colorado Springs police went on cold reporting status for the city later in the morning. Cheyenne Mountain Air Station is on delayed reporting Monday with non-essential staff asked to report no earlier than 9:30 a.m. The National Weather Service forecasts a high of 43 Monday with a 30 percent chance of rain and snow in the Colorado Springs area.
