The $5.6 million that City Council approved Monday for affordable housing – more than the combined annual allocations from the city and Franklin County toward a loan program – will enable grants for hard-to-finance projects to house homeless youth and the lowest-income renters. This is the payment of the $5 million Mayor Andrew Ginther had pledged to the Affordable Housing Alliance of Central Ohio as part of the capital budget that passed last year.
