YouTube Looks to Produce Original Content: Report

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- YouTube may get into the business of producing original content. The video giant, owned by Google, is reportedly preparing to announce several partnerships with media companies and personalities to produce content, according to The Wall Street Journal. The newspaper names major media companies such as IAC/InterActiveCorp.'s Electus, News Corp.'s ShineReveille unit, RTL Group's FremantleMedia, as well as skateboarding legend Tony Hawk and CSI creator Anthony Zuiker, as expected partners. ... Senh: They're by far the largest video site on the net. Yet, profits and monetization remake elusive. Producing original content is very expensive. I have low expectations for this.
