There are at least eight other lawsuits seeking to block the congestion fee plan. Add truckers to the list of opponents seeking to block New York’s first-in-the-nation congestion fee for driving into Manhattan. The Trucking Association of New York filed a federal lawsuit Thursday against the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, which developed the toll scheme, arguing the higher fees unfairly and unconstitutionally target the trucking industry.

Tesla shareholders will vote on CEO Elon Musk’s $56 billion pay package on June 13 that a Delaware judge voided in January, calling the sum “unfathomable” and because she found the billionaire improperly controlled the process. 

The pilot began in March in 12 states, but the IRS now wants the program to be available nationwide. The IRS said Thursday it will make permanent the free electronic tax return filing system that it experimented with this year and is asking all 50 states and the District of Columbia to help taxpayers file their returns through the program in 2025.

The FAA approval applies to College Station, Texas. Federal regulators have given Amazon key permission that will allow it to expand its drone delivery program, the company announced Thursday. In a blog post published on its website, Seattle-based Amazon said that the Federal Aviation Administration has given its Prime Air delivery service the OK to operate drones “beyond visual line of sight,” removing a barrier that has prevented its drones from traveling longer distances.

Meta also motioned the court to get the New Mexico lawsuit dismissed but wasn’t successful. A New Mexico judge on Thursday granted Mark Zuckerberg’s request to be dropped from a lawsuit that alleges his company has failed to protect young users on its social media platforms from sexual exploitation. The case is one of many filed by states, school districts and parents against Meta and its platforms over concerns about child exploitation.

Despite the Nasdaq Composite hitting a record high this week, some high-profile tech companies saw their fortunes turn by Friday. Several major tech stocks have seen their share prices decline this week, with Salesforce and Dell taking some of the largest hits of all. This comes despite the Nasdaq Composite hitting a record high on Tuesday.
