Google's virtual human brain teaches itself to identify cats, searches YouTube for adorable videos

Simulating a human brain is something that scientists have been trying to do for a very, very long time, but it looks like the engineers at Google have finally created a virtual intelligence that acts very much like your average web surfer. The Google X laboratory crew — the same folks who thought up Project Glass — wired approximately 16,000 computer processors together and flipped the switch.
