A series of projects to repair expansion joints has begun on bridges maintained by the Engineering Division of the City of Buffalo Department of Public Works. Work began Monday on the Lincoln Parkway bridge over Scajaquada Creek in Delaware Park, which leads traffic onto the Scajaquada Expressway. Parking is banned on the bridge while work is under way and traffic lanes are restricted.Work will continue for the next four months at five other bridges: a Seneca Street bridge, over the Buffalo River at Elk Street; another Seneca Street bridge, over railroad tracks east of Smith Street; two Bailey Avenue bridges, both over railroad tracks, one north of Broadway, the other south of Broadway; and the Amherst Street bridge over railroad tracks at Starin Avenue.
