Macomb County voters will decide in August whether to approve an additional $25 to $35 a year in taxes for the struggling SMART bus system, which largely provides public transit for seniors, the handicapped and the poor.The county Board of Commissioners approved tax-hike ballot language for the August primary election during hectic Thursday sessions in which the 13-member board dealt with a number of issues, including the future salaries for commissioners and the county executive.
