Warriors' Lee is rising to the playoff challenge

The Warriors' power forward waited eight years and 577 regular-season games before finally making a postseason appearance last season, a trip that was cut short by a torn right hip flexor in Game 1 of the first round. [...] when he started Saturday's first-round-opener against the Clippers by committing three consecutive turnovers, Lee refused to let another playoff experience spiral into disaster. Lee finished with 20 points, a team-high 13 rebounds and three assists in helping the Warriors take home-court advantage from the favored Clippers with a 109-105 victory. In the game's first 31 minutes, the two-time All-Star went 3-for-7 for six points, four rebounds and six turnovers. The coach repeatedly called Lee's number until he eventually found an offensive rhythm and got Blake Griffin into foul trouble. The Clippers' All-Star power forward was limited to 19 minutes, producing 16 points and only three rebounds before fouling out in the fourth quarter's final minute. During ABC's Saturday telecast, analyst Jeff Van Gundy said the Warriors should end the nonsense and give Jackson the contract extension that he deserves. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers said the NBA's message didn't make him feel any better, but he likes the NBA's effort at transparency.
