Busy Kent streets shut down for ‘suspicious package’ that belonged to sheriff’s office

In what the agency called a “screw-up,” King County sheriff’s deputies shut down a busy Kent intersection for more than four hours Monday morning to investigate a reported suspicious package that turned out to be a dummy belonging to the sheriff’s office itself. Shortly before 8 a.m., a King County Metro bus rider found a suspicious bag on board while the bus traveled through the East Hill area of Kent.
