Comment on Metro Council approves extension for Cordish/Omni deal

Cordish Cos. has some breathing room on the planned development of a luxury hotel by Omni Hotels & Resorts in downtown Louisville. The Louisville Metro Council voted Thursday to extend its agreement with Cordish, a Baltimore-based developer, until Dec. 31 to develop the downtown block bounded by Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Liberty, Second and Third streets. Cordish and Omni had requested a four-month extension, which would allow more time for the crafting of a finalized hotel plan.
