Stephen Strasburg pitched into the eighth inning, Jayson Werth hit his second home run in two nights and Seattle lost 3-1 to the Washington Nationals to drop the first two games of the series. Washington has won 11 straight against the Mariners, the longest current streak for one major league team against another.
