Uncontained Yellow Point fire burns 550 acres over 36 hours

The fire started shortly after 5 p.m. Friday. The Eugene Register-Guard reported Saturday afternoon that it grew quickly to 220 acres. The smoke from the fire drifted into Eugene, which is more than an hour northeast. Now the blaze is at 550 acres.
