Firefighters rushed to the home at 131 11th St. around 9:20 p.m. and found heavy smoke filling the entire first floor, said Battalion Chief Mark Basque with the Santa Rosa Fire Department. Once crews got inside the home, they quickly extinguished the flames, but firefighters discovered the body of an elderly woman under debris in the kitchen near where the fire started, Basque said.
