Café Intermezzo will open its first coffeehouses outside of its Atlanta hometown, with plans to expand in Charlotte as well as Nashville, Tenn., and Charleston, S.C. Brian Olson founded the chain in 1979. He said Charlotte, Nashville and Charleston share diverse demographics, high education levels and strong residential and pedestrian characteristics.
