The three finalists being considered for Savannah-Chatham police chief will be interviewed by appointed community groups next week. Afterward, the Savannah City Council and Chatham County Commission will meet with the candidates during a reception. The separate interview groups will consist of neighborhood, religious and civic leaders. City and county department heads will conduct their own interviews. The interviews will be closed to the public, but the reception will be open to anyone wishing to attend, said city spokesman Bret Bell.
