Comment on Pizatella may be named new Administration secretary

By Phil Kabler Changes are imminent in the state Department of Administration, sources indicate.An announcement is reportedly pending naming Jason Pizatella as the department secretary. Pizatella currently is deputy chief of staff for Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin.Pizatella will replace Administration Secretary Ross Taylor, who is to return to his previous position as director of the department's Finance Division.Currently, state comptroller Dave Mullins is also serving as acting director of the division.Taylor was appointed acting Administration secretary in February 2012, following the resignation of Robert Ferguson, and was named secretary in January 2013.Additionally, Cedric Greene, deputy secretary of Administration, is to move to an administrative position with the state Regional Jail Authority.With more than 720 employees, the Department of Administration oversees a number of state agencies, including the Consolidated Public Retirement Board, Fleet Management, General Services Division, Personnel Division, Public Employees Insurance Agency, Purchasing Division, Board of Risk and Insurance Management, Real Estate Division, and Office of Technology, among others.Reach Phil Kabler at philk@wvgazette.com, 304-348-1220, or follow @PhilKabler on Twitter.
